Thanksgiving Reflections from RailCore Consulting
As Thanksgiving approaches, I have found myself thinking often about this season, the people who shape it, and the unexpected blessings that have already defined my first three months in business. When I launched RailCore Consulting, I hoped the work would come, but I never expected the momentum and support to arrive with such force, and from so many directions.

This year, gratitude feels less like a quiet thought and more like something living and real, something I can actually see in the faces and names of the people who have trusted me to help them solve real challenges in the rail industry.
Over the past few months, you, my customers and partners, have given me the privilege of stepping into meaningful work. I have helped set up railcar inspections that kept operations moving safely and confidently. I have supported supply chain strategies that strengthened the flow of freight for businesses counting on reliability. I have worked through rail freight negotiations, explored maintenance solutions, help set up a new terminal, and reviewed software for RFPs that will set companies up for better visibility and better decisions. Each project has mattered, and each one has reminded me why this industry continues to inspire me.
But the work itself tells only part of the story.
The heart of this season, and the heart of RailCore, is people. Customers who took a chance on a new consulting firm. Vendors and partners who treated me like a long-established colleague. Industry friends who cheered me on behind the scenes. And family, who lifted me up in every late night, early morning, and “let me just finish this one thing” moment.
When I reflect on these first ninety days, what stands out is not the tasks completed but the trust you placed in me. For a new business, trust is not a small thing. It is everything. You allowed RailCore Consulting to grow quickly, authentically, and purposefully, and for that, I am deeply thankful.
This Thanksgiving, my message is simple.
Thank you.
Thank you for calling, emailing, referring, questioning, challenging, and partnering with me. Thank you for believing in what I am building. Thank you for helping shape the early chapters of a business I care deeply about.
As we move into the rest of the year, I hope you find time to slow down, gather close with the people you love, and remind yourself of the good that exists around you. In a world that moves fast, gratitude is its own kind of signal, a reminder to pause and take in what matters.
I am thankful for each of you. I am thankful for this industry. And I am thankful for the chance to serve.
Wishing you and your families a safe, warm, and restorative Thanksgiving.
With gratitude,
Jennifer Winter
